How do you scrub?

We are well passed the days when a man’s grooming was limited to just showering and clipping their nails. Nowadays there is a wide spectrum of different choices for the male population of the world to enjoy and experiment with. Sometimes shallow and sometimes profound morning facial routines there is a long list of products available to them not much different to the women’s vast choice of cleansers, toners, lotions, serums, moisturizers and of course masks. Spas and salons offer a wide range of different facial and body treatments to men aside from the typical beard trim at your local barber. Typically, not appreciating the self-care a man’s body might need to continue to stay at its prime, many shy away from certain procedures such as scrubbing and limit their spa menu order to only a deep tissue massage. One, such procedure, which can easily be attended to at home is the body scrub.

Now I have often come across guys who care deeply about the spots (red or white) and black heads on their face, and in fact more than you would believe turn to clay and mud masks for their deep cleansing properties to rid themselves of the trouble these may cause them. You even often catch a guy picking his chest for spots (which I admit needs attention), but one place most men forget about which not only needs but demands special attention, is the buttocks. I am sure some or even many of you reading this are having a laugh, but in fact the buttocks area is the most susceptible to clogged pores, especially in men. Mainly it is due to them wearing tight underwear over the entire area all year round, the buttocks and upper thigh area does not get much ventilation, and results in the pores collecting dirt and sebum. Ew, I admit. But let’s be honest here most of the married ladies or otherwise put sexually active ladies all know too well what it looks like when you see a mans naked butt with a bunch of red spots on it, not to mention a ‘close up’ with all the black heads covering a large area of the skin. To my male friends: this is not a derogatory article, women accept this as a given of most of your unwillingness to consider that your grooming may need to focus largely (at least once a week) on your – pardon my language – ass. I can assure you no woman or man for that matter likes it, in fact your wife or girlfriend may not say it out loud, but she is most definitely thinking it. Go ahead and buy yourself that bottle of body scrub and give those butt cheeks a scrub, they deserve it! xxx
